Millions of individuals worldwide do not have access to clean drinking water. Consuming dirty or impure water can cause various infections and harm one’s health. According to WaterAid UK report - more than 650 million of the world’s poorest people are living without access to drinking water. The World Bank estimates that 21 percent of communicable diseases in India are linked to unsafe water and the lack of hygiene practices. Building wells, damns and other water catchment systems can help provide clean water to all. Each of us can take small steps towards water conservations by practicing rain water harvesting and ensuring we do no waste any water. Save water, save the lives of millions.
